What is FastSpring?

FastSpring is a vendor of digital goods, specialising in safe and secure internet sales, based in the United States of America FastSpring is fully PCI compliant, employing Verisign SSL certificates. 

All payments for Joomlatools' products and subscriptions are collected through FastSpring. Following EU trading policies FastSpring collects Taxes and pays VAT to the relevant authorities.

European Union VAT

Through a special scheme set up for companies out with the EU, FastSpring is registered for VAT with the VAT number EU826012240. Companies located in the United States of America, rather than within an EU member State, and registered for VAT have a VAT number beginning with "EU".

European VAT rates differ by country and as such VAT taxes are reported and paid to the EU member State by FastSpring. All invoices issued by FastSpring, where VAT has been collected, will include FastSpring's VAT ID along with the VAT amount collected.

If your business is VAT registered you can be exempt from VAT tax collection by providing your valid VAT ID at the time of purchase. When you provide a valid VAT ID, no VAT is charged and the VAT ID is included on the FastSpring invoice.

VAT in Norway

If a company's annual revenue exceeds a given threshold amount, currently NOK 50,000 (May 2017), then that company becomes required by Law to collect VAT in Norway. As FastSpring's annual revenue in Norway exceeds this minimum threshold, any sales made to customers in Norway will have VAT.

If your business is based in Norway and you provide your Norwegian VAT ID at the time of purchase, then no VAT will be charged and the VAT ID will be included on the FastSpring invoice once the purchase is complete.

VAT in Switzerland

If a company's annual revenue exceeds a given threshold amount, currently CHF 100,00 (May 2017), then that company becomes required by Law to collect VAT in Switzerland. As FastSpring's annual revenue in Switzerland exceeds this minimum threshold, any sales made to customers in Switzerland will have VAT.

International Taxes

FastSpring does collect taxes in some circumstances for customers located in the following locations: California, United States, countries that are part of the IndiaJapanNew ZealandRussiaSouth Africa, and South Korea.
