Share documents with group users

Use case

A group of registered users can see specific documents that public visitors or other users can't see.


1. Create a user group

  1. Navigate to Users > Groups > New.
  2. Create a user group named Important users.
  3. Set Group Parent to Registered.

  4. Click Save & Close.

2. Create menu item

  1. Set Title to Documents.
  2. Set Menu Item Type to DOCman > (Default) Hierarchical List.

3. Assign users

  1. Navigate to Components > DOCman > Users.
  2. Select all the users you want to give access.
  3. Click Assign to group.
  4. Select the Important users group.

  5. Click Assign.

4. Create documents

  1. Navigate to Components > DOCman > Documents.
  2. Open an existing document or create a new document.
  3. Under Permission set Access to Groups and select Important users.
  4. Click Save & Close.

You can also share documents with individual users.
