Summer at Joomlatools: DOCman and Friends Get Updates

It's been a busy summer at Joomlatools. We've shipped two DOCman releases for Joomla, a new DOCman for WordPress, and updates to FILEman and LOGman. Here's a quick tour.

DOCman 6.1 and 6.2

DOCman 6.1 arrived in June and 6.2 followed this week. Between them, the highlights are:

  • Custom field plugins: Build your own custom field types for documents and categories, with permissions support built in.
  • Joomla pre-update check: DOCman now warns you before a Joomla update if there's a compatibility problem, so you can upgrade with confidence.
  • Frontend document form tabs: Long submission forms are now organized into tabs.
  • Expiry notifications for owners: Document owners are now included in expiring document notification emails.
  • YOOtheme Pro 5 support: The DOCLink button is now available in the YOOtheme Pro 5 editor.
  • Case-sensitive filenames: File paths are now handled exactly as your filesystem stores them.

Both releases also bring schema.org support, PHP 8 fixes, and plenty of smaller improvements. See the full changelog for everything.

DOCman for WordPress

DOCman for WordPress 2.5 was released in June. Table layouts can now show document descriptions, French translations are complete, and we fixed a number of styling and upgrade issues along the way. Check the changelog for details.

Also released

FILEman 6.1 and LOGman 6.1 are out too, both updated to the latest Joomlatools Framework. LOGman also gained metadata on CSV exports and support for installation from the Joomla console.
